Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays

christmas tree1This is one of those times of the year that it is so easy to continue to focus on the negative in our lives, including how our Village is running, and yet, it is a time of year that we should be celebrating our lives, the lives of our friends, families and community, the good things that we have, and the promise that our future is only determined by our actions.  It is with that thought in mind, that no matter your philosophy, political persuasion or thoughts, I wish to extend my thanks for everyone in my community and my hope that 2015 is prosperous for everyone!

However, while I want to express a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday to everyone in my community, I feel as though it’s absolutely necessary to extend a special thanks to a few people who have really been instrumental in teaching, educating and supporting me this year.  It’s been a wild, yet great year, so with that:

My wife, Sarah – She has been the backbone and my support, as well as the driving force behind my sanity.  As well as keeping things straight for me with my candidacy AND helping to keep this site running while I’m indisposed at work.  Without her and my kids, this site wouldn’t be here, and I wouldn’t have been pushed to find my limits (most don’t know this, but public speaking has long been a phobia of mine.)

To the business leaders (you know who you are) who have given me their time and advice, and taught me about what our businesses need to succeed in our town.

To my brothers and sisters in the Fire Service (not only C’ville, but from around Northern Illinois), for their endless support and encouragement, varied talents and wisdom, and especially to my second family from Carpentersville, who make every 3rd day a fun and rewarding experience despite whatever may be going on.  We cannot take our career and calling for granted – most people will never get to experience the family, camaraderie and support structure that we get to enjoy every day.  Most are not lucky enough to say that they work with their best friends.

To my Village Board: for providing me and the authors of this site with an endless supply of topics to write about!  After all, without our Current Board, this site may never have existed, and we’d never have learned everything that we have!

Again, a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!  May the holidays bring you the joy that they promise to.   May you have the wisdom to relax and enjoy the company of your friends and family.  May everyone’s health and happiness be positive and bright.  May your New Year be filled with prosperity and joy.

On behalf of the authors and owners of this site, I would like to extend, to all my fellow residents, business owners, tenants and passers-through a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and wonderful new year!
